2021 Best’s Rankings: US Total Life Issued Increased 5.5%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - The value of life insurance policies issued for the total U.S. life/health industry increased 5.5% to $3.32 trillion, according to a new Best’s Rankings.
The ranking found for the top 100 U.S. life writers, the value increased 6% to $3.28 trillion in 2020.
There was movement among the top 10 companies in the rankings. The new leader is Hartford Life & Accident Insurance Co., which saw a 68% rise in total life issued valuation to $322.7 billion and moved to No. 1 from No. 2. The biggest drop in the top 10 was Prudential of America Group, which fell from No. 4 to No. 7 in the rankings with an 18.3% drop in total life issued to $137.9 billion.
The AM Best ranking measures total life issued for 2020 and the percentage change.
