FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - SEPTEMBER 24, 2018 08:20 AM (EDT)
Leading A.M. Best executives will be participating in the InsureTech Connect Conference, taking place on Oct. 2-3, 2018, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV.

Matthew C. Mosher, executive vice president and chief operating officer, and Andrea Keenan, senior managing director – industry relations, will discuss the need for innovation in the insurance industry amid a rapidly changing market and emerging risks that require new service processes and coverages. Details of their conference panel appearances are as follows:

  • Mosher will take part in a panel session, titled, “Rise of the Human: Tech + Talent,” which will focus on how technology is playing a central role in the evolution of insurance companies’ cultures and their ability to meet the changing needs of employees and customers to create next-level outcomes. The discussion is scheduled for Oct. 2, at 3:55 p.m. (PDT).

  • Keenan will participate in a panel session on Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m. (PDT), titled, “Financial Inclusion: Innovation Meets Social Responsibility.” This discussion will center on how insurtech is addressing the extremely difficult challenge of delivering insurance products and other financial services to the under and uninsured in a way that is cost-effective and adds significant customer value.

A.M. Best also is co-hosting a pre-conference workshop, titled, “Leading the Future Executive Strategy Forum,” on Oct. 1, at 1:00 p.m. (PDT). Mosher will join other senior executives on a panel during the workshop to talk about the potential impacts of innovation on regulation and credit ratings, along with a look at what future regulation may look like, how companies are collaborating to remove friction and how they can highlight their innovative efforts.

The conference, which is the largest insurance-industry event covering innovation, provides insight to insurers on how to reinvent themselves amid disruptive forces caused by emerging technologies and insurtech startups.

A.M. Best expects innovation to play a greater role in its assessment of a company’s financial strength and a perspective of its current position relative to its rated peers. “Technology is most effective when it improves the processes that lead to improved efficiencies, lower costs, or improved service,” said Mosher. “Innovation plays a key role in a company’s ability to maintain long-term financial strength, and its importance likely will increase in the future.”

A.M.BestTV will provide video coverage at the conference.
