FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK, N.J. - AUGUST 19, 2013 12:00 AM (EDT)
A.M. Best Co. has assigned a financial strength rating (FSR) of B++ (Good) and an issuer credit rating (ICR) of “bbb+” to Crown Global Insurance Company of America (CGLIA) (Wilmington, DE). The outlook assigned to both ratings is stable.

The ratings reflect CGLIA’s role as a U.S. member in Crown Global Insurance LLC. (CGIG), which provides innovative investment enhancement strategies and products to individuals and institutions. Policies issued by CGLIA are available in Delaware. Other rating factors include CGLIA’s adequate capitalization for its projected business plan and its access to additional capital to fund future growth from affiliates and ultimate owners. Crown Global Life Insurance Limited (CGLIB) (Bermuda) and Crown Global Life Insurance (Bermuda) Limited (CGLI) (Cayman Islands) are two affiliates of CGLIA, which have CGIG as their parent. CGLIB and CGLI have an FSR of B++ (Good) and ICRs of “bbb+”, with a stable outlook.

Partially offsetting these strengths is the limited operating history for CGLIA. CGLIB and CGLI have demonstrated their ability to grow in their respective market places and are expected to leverage that success in the U.S. market over the intermediate term.

A.M. Best expects the ratings for CGLIA to remain stable over the medium term. Negative rating actions could result if its planned growth strategies result in unexpected negative changes to the company’s capitalization, operating performance or business model.

The methodology used in determining these ratings is Best’s Credit Rating Methodology, which provides a comprehensive explanation of A.M. Best’s rating process and contains the different rating criteria employed in the rating process. Best’s Credit Rating Methodology can be found at www.ambest.com/ratings/methodology.
