A.M. Best has assigned indicative issue ratings of “a+” to senior unsecured debt, “a” to subordinated debt and “a-” to preferred stock of the recently filed shelf registration of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) (headquartered in New York, NY) [NYSE: TRV]. Additionally, A.M. Best has assigned an indicative issue rating of “a-” to preferred securities from the same recently filed shelf registration for TRV’s statutory trusts, Travelers Capital Trust II, III, IV & V. The outlook assigned to each rating is stable.
The assigned ratings, for securities that may be issued under the shelf registration statement, are consistent with the current ratings of TRV’s outstanding securities. The new shelf registration replaces TRV’s previous shelf registration, which expired June 18, 2016. Consequently, the indicative ratings for the previous shelf registration have been withdrawn.
