FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - OCTOBER 04, 2021 08:16 AM (EDT)
Members of AM Best’s life/health ratings division will lead an online session as part of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Annual Conference, which takes place, Oct. 12-13, 2021.

In the session, titled, “Life and Annuity Weathers Pandemic in 2020, Threats and Challenges Still Exist,” Ken Frino, managing director, Mike Porcelli, director, and Edward Kohlberg, director, will provide their perspectives on the state of the life insurance and annuity industry segments. Topics to be discussed include the impact of low interest rates on life/annuity writers’ profitability and the anticipated changing mix of new products for some carriers moving forward. Another discussion topic will include the affect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the life underwriting process and what modifications may be required in the near future.

The senior AM Best analysts each hold decades of experience in the life insurance industry, managing analytic teams responsible for the rating agency’s coverage of the North American and Caribbean life/annuity sector. The session will take place Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 9:15 a.m. (EDT) and is sponsored by AM Best.

The annual ACLI event brings together senior executives from life insurance and financial services companies to examine current business and political issues. This year’s online program, themed as “REACH,” features sessions addressing investment, compliance, legislative and accounting issues. For more information about ACLI’s annual conference, please view the event webpage and agenda.
