OLDWICK - SEPTEMBER 23, 2022 08:12 AM (EDT)
AM Best will host a market briefing on the state of the U.S. property/casualty insurance industry in conjunction with the American Property Casualty Insurers Association’s (APCIA) Annual Meeting, on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at 2 p.m. (CDT) at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. AM Best also will be sponsoring the opening reception at the conference.

Stefan Holzberger, chief rating officer, and Greg Williams, senior director, both of AM Best, will lead the market briefing and discuss segment outlooks for the personal and commercial lines of business within the U.S. property/casualty industry, as well as financial performance trends. The session also will look at market trends for delegated underwriting authority enterprises (DUAE), such as managing general agents and other underwriting agencies, as well a primer on Best’s Performance Assessments for DUAEs an industry-first tool providing an objective, independent opinion of a DUAE’s ability to perform services on behalf of carriers. Also as part of the briefing, the analysts will explore the growing impact of so-called secondary perils (e.g., tornadoes, hail) and rising loss costs amid inflationary and supply chain pressures. The briefing will take place in the Senator’s Lecture Hall at the Hilton Anatole, the same location as the APCIA conference.

The purpose of the APCIA is to advocate for its members’ public policy positions in all 50 states and in the U.S. Congress, as well as to keep members current on the information that is critical to their businesses.
