Risk managers will meet with brokers, insurers and other industry professionals this month at the RIMS 2022 Riskworld conference in San Francisco.

For many, it may be the first time they are heading out on a business trip after COVID-19 brought business travel and the “old normal” business operations to a halt.

Many of today's top risk management issues are familiar: cyber; diversity, equity and inclusion; ESG; regulation; artificial intelligence; and COVID-19. But at the workplace, the changes have been profound.

From property risks to workers' comp, supply chain risk to professional liability, risk managers have had to navigate a rapidly changing environment.

April is Risk Management Awareness Month. In “Risk Managers Walk a Tightrope as COVID-19 Challenges Remain,” Best's Review examines the role of the risk manager as companies weigh decisions such as whether to put office buildings up for sale and how to keep employees engaged and safe as the trend to remote work accelerates.

Nonfungible tokens have captured the attention of art purchasers and technologists in recent months. Beeple's Everydays: The First 5000 Days sold for $69 million at Christie's in March 2021, according to Artnet News.

In “Investment Firm Puts a New Face on an Old-Fashioned Product With NFTs Backed by Life Settlements,” Best's Review looks at a plan to offer NFTs backed by life insurance settlements.

The April issue also includes Best's Rankings of the largest insurers in the Asia-Pacific region.

Special Note: Because of a global shortage of commercial printing paper, the size of the April issue of Best's Review has been reduced.
