2021 Best’s Rankings: US Property/Casualty – Industry’s NPW Increased 2.5%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Net written premiums for the top 200 U.S. property/casualty writers rose 2.6% to $633.25 billion in 2020, according to a new Best’s Rankings report. Total net premiums written for the U.S. property/casualty industry rose 2.5% to $658.96 billion.
The top seven insurers in the rankings kept their positions from the previous year. No. 1 ranked State Farm Group’s net premiums written rose 0.3% to $65.64 billion.
Among the top 10 U.S. property/casualty insurers, Progressive Insurance Group at No. 3 had the biggest increase in net premiums written, up 8.0% to $40.57 billion. Farmers Insurance Group, at No. 10, saw its net premiums written fall 2.2% to $17.88 billion.
The two-page AM Best report measures net premiums written for 2020. Data for some companies in this report has been received from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
