Best's Rankings: Industry's Total US Ordinary Life Issued Increased 2% in 2024
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - U.S. ordinary life issued increased 2% in 2024 to $2.01 trillion, according to a new Best’s Rankings report.
Northwestern Mutual Group retained the top spot on the list with ordinary life issued of $182.72 billion in 2024, which was a decrease of 4.3% from the prior year.
Legal & General America Group climbed to second place from fourth a year earlier as it posted ordinary life issued of $130.02 billion in 2024 for a climb of 24.3%, according to the report. State Farm Group moved down one spot to No. 3 with its ordinary life issued of $121.12 billion in 2024, up 3.4%.
No. 7 ranked Pacific Life Group showed the biggest increase among the top 10 carriers with its $93.67 billion in ordinary life issued in 2024, up by 26.8% from the previous year.
Massachusetts Mutual Life Group, which took the eighth spot on the rankings, notched the largest decline among the top 10 with its $84.77 billion in ordinary life issued in 2024 down 11.5%.
