2026 Best's Rankings: Eight of 10 Largest Latin America Insurers Based in Mexico, Including No. 1
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Grupo Nacional Provincial S.A.B. was the largest Latin American insurer in 2025, based on gross premiums written, according to a new Best's Rankings.
It was one of eight insurers domiciled in Mexico among the 10 largest writers in Latin America. Grupo Nacional Provincial posted $7.15 billion of gross premiums written last year and $1.33 billion of capital and surplus.
The other two top 10 writers, including No. 2 Amil Assistencia Medica Internacional SA, with $5.1 billion of gross premiums, are domiciled in Brazil.
No. 10 Seguros Monterrey New York Life SA CV had GPW of $2.55 billion and capital and surplus of $1 billion.
The rankings include 2025 gross premiums written, capital and surplus and country of domicile for the 100 largest Latin America insurers.
