Best's Rankings: US Individual Comprehensive Hospital/Medical Premiums Rose 52.0% in 2024
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - U.S. individual comprehensive hospital and medical accident and health insurance premiums contracts rose 52.0% in 2024, according to a new Best's Ranking.
Total premiums contracts for the U.S. life/health industry rose 52.0% to $6.41 billion for both the industry and for the top 25 writers.
The top 10 insurers maintained their positions from the previous year.
Top-ranked Cigna Life Group's premiums contracts rose 1.7% to $2.51 billion. At No. 2, UnitedHealth Life Companies posted a 307.1% rise in premiums contracts to $2.35 billion. Third-ranked Aetna Life Group's premiums contracts rose 131.0% to $789.5 million.
Fourth-ranked BCBS of Kansas Companies saw it premiums contacts fall 15.8% to $280.5 million.
The two-page report measures 2024 accident and health premiums contracts for 2024 and percent change from the previous year.
