Best's Rankings: US Commercial Multiperil (Non-Liability) Industry's DPW Increased 8.9%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Direct premiums written for U.S. commercial multiperil non-liability policies increased 8.9% in 2024 to reach $45.49 billion, according to a new Best's Rankings report.
The top 25 writers in the segment saw DPW of $31.24 billion during the year, a 6.7% increase from 2023 levels, according to the report.
Travelers Group held onto the top spot in the ranking, with its DPW of $3.71 billion in 2024, up by 14% from the prior year.
Chubb INA Group held onto No. 2, with $3.08 billion in DPW in 2024, up by 8.2% from 12 months earlier. Hartford Insurance Group retained the third-place spot with DPW of $2.57 billion for the year, an increase of 16.8%, according to the report.
State Farm Group retained fourth, with DPW of $2.13 billion in 2024, up by 14.1%.
Auto-Owners Insurance Group moved up two places to No. 5 in the ranking with DPW of $1.71 billion, up by 21.3%, according to the report.
The three-page report ranks companies by 2024 direct premiums written and includes: the percentage change; market share for 2024, 2023 and 2022; adjusted loss ratios for those three years; and the percentage of company premiums.
