Best’s Rankings: US Inland Marine Direct Premiums Written Down 4.8% in 2024
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Direct premiums written in the U.S. inland marine sector declined 4.8% in 2024 to $34.68 billion, according to a new Best's Rankings report.
DPW at the top of the ranking mirrored the overall market, with the leading 25 carriers seeing direct premiums written contract 4.8% in 2024. The top 25 carriers DPW totaled $26.75 billion this past year.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Cos. retained its No. 1 position. Allianz US PC Insurance Cos., which ranked No. 3, saw the fastest growth with DPW increasing 22.8% to $2.59 billion. American International Group Inc. was the only other top five carrier to see an increase, with DPW up 2% this past year.
No. 2 CNA Insurance Cos. saw DPW decline 6.5% to $2.89 billion, and No. 4 Chubb INA Group had a 12.5% decline to $1.88 billion.
Breaking into the top 10 were Travelers Group, which moved to No. 9 from No. 11 as DPW increased 4.9%. State Farm Group ranked No. 10 in 2024, up from No. 12, as DPW increased 6.1%.
