Best's Rankings: US Life/Health Six-Month 2025 Admitted Assets Up 2.9%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Total U.S. life/health admitted assets rose 2.9% to $9.52 trillion in the first six months of 2025, according to a new Best's Rankings report.
Admitted assets rose 3.1% to $6.97 trillion for the top 25 writers and also rose 3.1%, to $8.51 trillion, for the top 50 writers. The top 100 writers saw a 3.0% increase to $9.35 trillion.
The top eight writers each held onto their spot, led by top-ranked Prudential of America Group, which maintained its perch atop the rankings with a 2.2% increase to $580.46 billion in admitted assets.
The top 25 writers each saw increases in their admitted assets. Athene US Life Group led the way with an 11.7% increase to $318.21 billion. The insurer jumped to ninth from 12th in the rankings.
Jackson National Group fell one spot to 10th with $306.15 billion in admitted assets, a 2.0% increase. John Hancock Life Insurance Group dropped to 11th with $296.38 billion, a 0.6% increase.
The report measures admitted assets and percent change since year-end 2024 for the top 100 writers.
