AM Best Assigns Credit Ratings to Care Improvement Plus South Central Insurance Company

//BestWire// - AM Best has assigned a Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a+” (Excellent) to Care Improvement Plus South Central Insurance Company (CIPSCIC) (Omaha, NE), a health insurance subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group Incorporated. The outlook assigned to these Credit Ratings (ratings) is stable.
The ratings reflect CIPSCIC’s strategic role as a member of UnitedHealthcare Companies (UnitedHealthcare), the lead rating unit. The ratings of UnitedHealthcare reflect its balance sheet strength, which AM Best assesses as strong, as well as its strong operating performance, very favorable business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.
The ratings of CIPSCIC are driven by its strategic role as a writer of Medicare Advantage (MA) and Special Needs Plans (SNP) for UnitedHealthcare. The company supports the business objectives of UnitedHealthcare to offer a broad range of health insurance products nationwide.
