2026 Best’s Rankings: US Other Health Premium Contracts for A&H Drop 8.7%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - U.S. life/health other health premiums for accident and health contracts in 2025 decreased 8.7% to $40.24 billion, according to a new Best's Rankings report.
The top 25 carriers fared slightly better, seeing premium contracts decline 7.2% to $35.99 billion, according to the ranking.
The ranking saw a shakeup among the top 10 carriers with the majority seeing some movement. The outlier was UnitedHealth Life Cos., which retained its No. 1 position with premium contracts increasing 24% to $14.09 billion.
Aflac U.S. Group moved into the No. 2 spot from No. 3 the year prior despite premium contracts declining 1.5% to $3.82 billion. Tokio Marine US Life Group moved up one spot to No. 3 in the most recent ranking with $2.27 billion in premium contracts, MetLife Insurance Cos. moved up two spots to No. 4 with $1.8 billion, and Unum Insurance Group rose to No. 5 from No. 7 with $1.6 billion.
Aetna Life Group fell one spot to No. 6 with $1.33 billion.
The report includes data on total other health premium contacts and the year-over-year percent change.
