2026 Best's Rankings: US P/C 2025 Allied Lines (Total) DPW Rose 1.5%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Chubb INA Group maintained it top spot among U.S. property/casualty writers ranked by 2025 allied lines (total) direct premiums written as total DPW for the U.S. P/C industry rose 1.5% to $54.86 billion.
For the top 100 writers, DPW rose 1.2% to $53.25 billion. The top 25 writers saw DPW rise 0.5% to $41.93 billion.
Chubb INA Group maintained its top spot as its DPW rose 9.9% to $4.87 billion.
QBE North America Insurance Group moved to No. 2 from No. 3 as DPW rose 6.8% to $4.49 billion. Zurich Insurance US PC Group slipped to third from second place with a 2.2% decline in DPW to $4.16 billion.
Writers with big DPW percentage declines include Citizens Property Insurance Corp., which fell to No. 17 from No. 10 as DPW fell 41.2% to $1.04 billion.
GuideOne Insurance Cos. saw its DPW fall 35.2%, James River Group declined 33.7% and Progressive Insurance Group fell 33.5%.
The three-page ranking measures 2025 DPW; percentage change in premiums; market share and adjusted loss ratios for 2025, 2024 and 2023; and allied lines as a percentage of company premiums.
