AM Best Requests Comments on Proposed Revisions to ‘Life Settlement Securitization’ Criteria

//BestWire// - AM Best is requesting comments from market participants in the insurance industry and other interested parties on a draft update to its criteria procedure, “Life Settlement Securitization,” which is available in the methodology section of AM Best’s website until Oct. 9, 2026.
The main proposed update to “Life Settlement Securitization” is the adoption of the 2015 Valuation Basic Tables for mortality rates. Other changes in the draft of the criteria include updates to certain adjustment factors, such as the Basic Adjustment Factor, Age-Based Adjustment Factor and Ratings Wear-Off Adjustment.
AM Best does not expect the revisions to “Life Settlement Securitization” to impact any published ratings.

When submitting comments to the methodology in-box, commenters can select one of the following three options: Allow my comments to be made public and include my contact information; allow my comments to be made public but keep my contact information anonymous; or do not publish my comments (i.e., confidential).
