OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of B++ (Good) and assigned an issuer credit rating (ICR) of “bbb” to National Insurance Company of Wisconsin, Inc. (Brookfield, WI). The rating outlook for the FSR has been revised to stable from negative, and the outlook assigned to the ICR is stable.

The revised outlook reflects National Insurance Company of Wisconsin’s improved profitability reported in 2005-2006 following an operating loss reported in 2004, and its strengthened capital position. Although the company has experienced fluctuating operating results in the past, steps taken to stabilize operations have been successful.

National Insurance Company of Wisconsin has an established niche in marketing primarily group long-term disability insurance products to school districts, counties and municipalities chiefly in the Great Lakes states. Strategic affiliations with other insurers and reinsurers have enabled it to offer other products to complement its own products and grow premium income by assuming business.
