Best’s Rankings: U.S. Life/Health 2022 Six-Month Admitted Assets Decrease by 6.1%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - The total U.S. life/health industry’s admitted assets of $8.1 billion at the midpoint of 2022 represents a 6.1% drop compared with the same point in 2021, according to a new Best’s Rankings report.
Prudential of America Group held onto the top spot in the ranking, despite posting a 10.1% decrease during the period to $503.6 billion. MetLife Insurance Cos., which retained the No. 2 position from a year earlier, also posted a drop with a 7.5% decrease to $426.9 billion in admitted assets.
Athene U.S. Life Group, which climbed to 18th from 22 a year earlier, notched the largest gain among the top 25 with its $165.9 billion in admitted assets up by 11.5% compared to 2021. No. 9 ranked Jackson National Group saw the largest drop among the top 25 on percentage basis, with its $271.5 billion down 15.7% from a year earlier.
The AM Best ranking measures admitted assets at the midpoint of 2022, as well as the change on a percentage basis.
