Best's Rankings: Total US P/C Directors & Officers 2024 Monoline DPW Down 6.0%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Total U.S. property/casualty directors and officers monoline direct premiums written decreased 6.0% to $10.83 billion in 2024, according to a new Best's Ranking.
A number of higher ranked underwriters saw double-digit DPW decreases in the D&O market while several writers further down in the ranking had triple-digit DPW increases.
Chubb INA Group advanced to the top position from No. 2 although its 2024 DPW fell 11.8% to $959.5 million. American International Group rose to No. 2 from No. 4 as its DPW increased 4.6% to $938.7 million. Third-ranked XL America Cos. fell from No. 1 as its DPW fell 20.4% to $876.3 million.
Among the top 10, Fairfax Financial (USA) Group fell to No. 7 from No. 6 as its DPW fell 17.1% to $492.9 million.
The three-page Best's Ranking measures 2024 DPW and percent change from the previous year for the top 85 monoline D&O writers.
