Best's Rankings: US Commercial Multiperil (Liability) DPW Rises 5% to $21.64 Billion
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - U.S. commercial multiperil (liability) direct premiums written increased 5% in 2024 to $21.64 billion, according to a new Best's Rankings report.
Travelers Group retained the No. 1 spot with $2.26 billion in DPW, up 11.6% from the prior year. It was the strongest percentage increase among the 15 largest writers of the line.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Cos. remained No. 3 despite a 10.8% decline in DPW, to $1.02 billion.
Nationwide P&C Group dropped to No. 11 from No. 6 a year earlier after direct premium written decreased 29.5% to $553.7 million.
The report includes 2024 direct premiums written and percentage change, three years of market share and adjusted loss ratios and the percentage share of company premiums for the line.
