A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of A- (Excellent) of Utica First Insurance Company (Utica, NY). The outlook for the rating has been revised to positive from stable.
The rating reflects the positive benefits derived from management's proactive initiatives, which have resulted in the company's solid operating performance and its significant improvement in capitalization.
The revised outlook reflects A.M. Best's opinion that the consistent results achieved by the company will continue in the medium term, despite softening market conditions, and that strong earnings will continue in the future.
