A.M. Best Co. has placed the financial strength rating of B+ (Very Good) of Kentucky Home Life Insurance Company (Kentucky Home Life) (Louisville, KY) under review with developing implications.

This rating action is a result of the change in ownership of Kentucky Home Life from National Guardian Life Insurance Company (Madison, WI) to joint owners, Farmers Capital Bank Corporation [NASDAQ: FFKT] (Frankfort, KY) and Hamburg Insurance, LLC (Lexington, KY). The new ownership was effective January 1, 2005.

A.M. Best anticipates this rating to remain under review with developing implications until A.M. Best discusses the details surrounding the financing of this acquisition, the level of capitalization of Kentucky Home Life going forward and the operating plans with the new owners.
