The Secretary of State’s office did not post vote totals for Mulready, who was the only candidate on the ballot for the position. No Democratic candidate applied for the race, either.

A representative of the office said he won by default, in explaining why the office posted no vote totals.

In 2018, Mulready scored an easy win over Democratic candidate Kimberly Fobbs, attracting 61.97% of the vote. Mulready, a former House Insurance Committee chairman, succeeded John Doak, who was term-limited (BestWire, Nov. 7, 2018).

An attempt to obtain comment from Mulready was unsuccessful.
