Members of AM Best’s life/health ratings division will lead a session at the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Annual Conference, which takes place, Oct. 12-13, 2020.
In the session, titled, “Life Insurers – Surviving and Thriving,” Ken Frino, managing director, Thomas Rosendale, senior director, and Michael Porcelli, director, will provide their perspectives on the state of the life insurance and annuity industry segments. Topics to be discussed include life/annuity writers’ 2020 year-to-date results and expectations for the rest of the year and 2021, with a look at asset management and the overall macroeconomic environment; as well as updates on life/annuity products and industry innovation, which has rapidly sped up to meet the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysts also will explore the impact of the pandemic’s fallout on life/annuity carriers’ credit ratings and the results of AM Best’s related stress testing. The senior AM Best analysts each hold decades of experience in the life insurance industry, managing analytic teams responsible for the rating agency’s coverage of the North American and Caribbean life/annuity sector. The session will take place Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. (EDT).
The annual ACLI event brings together senior executives from life insurance and financial services companies to examine current business and political issues. This year’s online program, themed as “Future Ready,” features sessions addressing investment, compliance, legislative and accounting issues.
